If you pay a ticket for or are otherwise convicted of a traffic offense, there are usually DMV consequences such as points against your license that result from the conviction. If you get enough points, your license will be suspended. Your license can also be taken away for other reasons, such as driving with a certain amount of alcohol in your system, missing a court date or getting more than one MIP (underage drinking) conviction. If you think you might be in danger of losing your license, contact Student Legal Services about your situation. We can help you prepare for the hearing and, depending on the circumstances, you can hire us to either go with you or attend in your place.
Our office can also help with other types of administrative hearings, such as Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) disciplinary boards. Contact us if you are notified that you have such a hearing.
